Race for Research™ is a 5K Fun Run/Walk organized in memory of Michele Plachy-Rubin.

Michele was diagnosed with brain cancer in December, 1996. Michele fought the disease valiantly but, unfortunately, lost her fight in May of 1998. Michele's friends and family continue her fight against cancer through the Race for Research.

All proceeds from the Race for Research will be donated to the Cancer League of Colorado. Donated funds will designated specifically for brain cancer research! In 1969, five women whose lives were all affected by cancer, founded Cancer League of Colorado. From their individual struggles grew a joint commitment to raise money for cancer research and patient care within the state of Colorado. This all-volunteer charity organization became the Cancer League of Colorado, Inc. Since 1985, we have awarded over $5 million in research grants and service awards.
